Shipping your car to and from Alaska often includes shipping on a container ship.

Whether you are moving to or away from Alaska, the easiest way to make that move is to have your vehicle shipped. We make the shipping process quick and easy for you each and every time you have to ship your vehicle, but there are some things to know and do that can make the journey in transit even easier!

Have Your Gas at a Certain Level

Shipping your vehicle requires precision when it comes to some aspects of your vehicle. One of these aspects is your gas tank. You want to have your gas tank around 1/8 to 1/4 full. This is the shipping sweet spot as it does not weigh down your vehicle too much, but it also allows for some wiggle room in case of an emergency of some sort.

Remove Any and All Personal Items

Because the shipping journey is so much more tedious to and from Alaksa than it is for other shipping journeys, we suggest that you entirely remove all personal items. This is for the safety and protection of your vehicle and items. It prevents things from moving around and causing damage while your vehicle is being transported and it also reduces the risk of theft on the journey. With this said, we also suggest that you entirely disable any car alarms, satellites, etc.

Thoroughly Look Over Your Vehicle

It is important that you confirm your vehicle is in proper working condition before you ship it. We will ship your vehicle in any condition; however, we always assume the vehicle works unless told otherwise, so you will want to see how your vehicle is. If your vehicle is not in working condition, please let us know. If your vehicle does have any damage such as a broken window, leaky engine, etc. we ask that you have it repaired, if possible, as that could increase risk during shipping.

Have Any Necessary Documents Ready

When you have your vehicle shipped in such a way, it is important to have your legal documents handy. These would be the leasing agreement or title of the vehicle in your name. We suggest you have them handy in advance to make the journey run smoothly.
